Transformation doesn’t happen overnight and we can be quite hard on ourselves when we have committed to make a change and progress is slow or we suffer setbacks. New research proves that self-compassion is essential for our renewal, so here is a little practice to get you on track.

  • Notice when you catch yourself in a negative thought – for example “I am unloveable”.
  • Pause for a moment.
  • Formulate the OPPOSITE thought “I AM loveable” (even if you don’t believe it).
  • Catch as many of your negative thoughts as you can and reformulate them.
  • The more you practice the more these new thoughts will stick in your mind.

Positive thinking is free and it works: what’s not to like it?
