The Stick to Stigu planner is a unique combination of organisation and motivational inspiration. By that I mean it's hella good planning everything I need. I love being able to write down and plan for events in the coming months, and also write down my daily to do list all in one place, without running out of space. Each page for the week also has motivational quotes, tips and tricks to help you balance plans too!

I can safely say I've not loved a planner so much in my life. It's been kept by my side daily, and I've enjoyed planning my days week by week. Every week is accompanied by little tasks, quotes and facts, which I love reading!

Stigu have pretty much reinvented the concept of a planner by incorporating monthly themes, little mantras, things to think about, inspiring illustrations, and fun, easy to stick to practices for not just organising your time, but also your lifestyle. There’s plenty of room for notes, sketches, or general ramblings, allowing you to keep track of everything that matters to you.

I have never been a HUGE loved of stationery. In all honesty, I’ve never seen the point. Until now. As well as a week on each page there’s also an empty page opposite so that I can write a to do list, fill it with post-it notes or even doodle. It’s a really useful space and it can be anything you want it to be. My Stick to Stigu planner is now constantly with me when I’m working and scheduling in any work. Thanks to Stick to Stigu I am improving my blog work-life balance this year. If you’re a blogger and have never had a paper planner then you should get one – I can’t recommend this one enough.

I love how it encourages you to take time out and just chill and look after yourself a bit more which is one of my New Years Resolutions. I really recommend reading the Stick to Stigu blog as it has some great posts on mindfulness and staying organised and being calm!

Well this year, Stigu have taken all that pressure off me and sent through their rather fabulous 2016 planner. It's a week per page only on the right side with each day divided up into 5 squares/shapes, this I love! In my organised world each column will be assigned per plan - be it a blog, parent, son, appointment, random! For that Stigu, I thank you!On the left is a huge plan section for notes, reminders, waiting on deliveries, for whatever and this saves me writing on my diary side [It can't just be me that that bothers?]! If the planner came with a set of stickers to use - I'd probably pee my pants!

Throughout the year it offers up healthy advice on how to stay sane whilst juggling life. Stigu understands that you are human and you need balance so gives tips on how to plan hard, play hard and rest hard. The result of all of the above is a life coach style workbook/weekly planner that manages to squeeze in so much without feeling like hardwork. It’s early days but I can see myself getting along with Stigu like a house on fire!

Each month has a new theme but it also has a new style. For stationary addicts like myself this is fantastic as I know the change in font and layout will make it feel like regularly having a new diary!
What I particularly like about it is that the weekly key dates are already noted (I cannot stress how handy this would have been in my last job where the social media squad had a monthly responsibility to make a list of all these occasions!). In addition to this there's also inspiring quotes dotted around - perfect for injecting you with a little dose of that 'can-do' attitude!

Stigu planners offer a double-page spread for each week of the year. On the right-hand side is a pretty sizable space to jot down all of your plans for the week, with each day split into five smaller boxes; I like this layout as it means I can split the day into smaller chunks of time. On the right-hand side is a blank page to be filled with tasks, plans, doodles, or whatever else takes your fancy. My favourite element of the Stigu planner though, is the little notes and prompts on the bottom of each blank page, which encourage you to work on one little change or behaviour each week in order to improve your general wellbeing

I like that there are several big spaces on each day, so I can dedicate a space to each part of my life. For example, blog commitments, the boys' activities, appointments or family errands that I need to run. There is lots of big space on the opposite page for me to write my weekly to-do lists; I don't know about you but I get a real sense of achievement whenever I cross something off my list!

This could make a great family planner, but would also be a perfect blog planner. I really like this planner and am in process of filling it up with appointments, birthdates and term dates.

Body Scan

The body and mind are two sides of the same coin, if you want to relax one you need to relax the other. Get the body relaxed and rested, and watch the churning of the mind slooooooooooooooooooooow down… Practice: Body scan Stick to: 20 minutes once a week Lie on the floor in a warm place. Rest your attention on each place as you breathe in. Breathe out all the tightness and tension: Face, neck, shoulders… Arms, hands and fingers……

How to have a rest

Before you go totally nuts with all the Christmas preparations, challenge yourself and dare to have a little rest, a moment of total relaxation. Don’t aim to fall into sleep, just be there and enjoy. If you are ready to try having a rest, you will need the following in place: Darkness: it is imprinted in our biology to rest when it is dark. Body position: prop your torso up at an angle of 30 degrees from floor – this shuts down the…

Set your mind free

It’s not just the body that needs rest. Often we rest the body and leave the mind working (watching TV). When the mind is rested, solutions often come “out of the blue” without a slightest effort! Practice: Set you mind free Stick to: 2 minutes whenever you need a breakthrough If you have been grappling with a problem and are not getting anywhere near a solution, try this: Walk away from the problem (physically if possible, to another room or…

Rest in not illegal!

How often do you rest? (hand on heart!) And no, watching TV, reading and sleeping don’t count. Can you remember the last time you just stood, or sat, or laid down and ceased all outward activity? (except breathing obviously…) As we move towards the end of the year, and hopefully you have some time to look forward to, let’s focus on rest. What is it? How do you do it? Is it legal? (Yes) Restful Restmas season to all busy…

Squats help your heart rate to jump from resting to pumped

Did you know that working the legs takes a strain of the heart, it’s like going for a quick run. So time to incorporate squats into your daily routines and get your heart pumped! Mini-practice: Squats Stick to: 2-3 times a day (10-20 repeats each time) Put feet shoulder-width apart. Point your feet (and knees) slightly outward. Bend your knees then straighten again (never let your knees overshoot the feet). In time you will be able to lower yourself so…

Sit right!

Slouching increases the pressure on your lower back to about 10 to 15 times as much as when you are lying down. So time to sit right and this is how it’s done! Practice: Sit right Stick to: All the time Steps: Choose a straight chair with armrests that firmly support you. Sit with your bottom right at the back of the chair so you don’t slouch. In the car, position your seat so that you can easily reach the…

Walk here and there

Whenever possible: stand rather than sit, walk rather than stand. If you stand for three hours a day for five days, that’s around 750 calories burnt. That’s about 10 marathons a year!! Practice: Walk here and there Stick to: 5 minutes every hour Always take stairs. Hold walking meetings. Walk to people to talk face to face. Walk to a further bathroom. Stand up while on phone. It’s those little things that matter in the big picture! Stigu X

Mini-practice: Chill out breath

Autumn can be stressful time as we try to renew ourselves and set new, challenging goals. This mini-practice can help you to change gear into “rest” mode. Practice: Chill out breath Stick to: 5 mins Count how long the in-breath and out-breath are. Begin to lengthen the out-breath by just a few seconds. Do this on each out-breath so it gets longer and longer. Don’t leave yourself feeling “breath hungry” or desperate to breath in. Eventually with practice out-breath might…

Breathe mini-practice: Sigh of relief

October Stigu theme is breathe. Our life began when we struggled to take our first breath, and from that moment on we are only usually aware of our breathing when there is something wrong: the misery of a blocked nose, the exhaustion of a chesty cough, or the absolute panic of not being able to breathe. We can survive weeks without food, days without water, but only minutes without breathing… Many illnesses are related to disordered breathing, and the solution…

Sleep tip: Stop fighting

Bed is not our enemy. By accepting our sleep sensitivity and stopping to try to fix it, small (and big!) miracles can happen. Instead of thinking that you are incurable, change your perspective: Insomnia is not our overlord. Stop thinking about sleep during the day. Keep key plans, even after a poor night. Park your anger at the bedroom door (it might not even still be there in the morning…) Give your head a holiday from insomnia. Stigu X

My fav calendar EVER! It’s fun, quirky and practical. Enough space to put my endless to-do lists on the left and flexible space for meetings etc on the right. Simply Love It! And what’s more: my teenager boys (and their girlfriends) want one too. Stigu is a lifesaver.

Just got my Very First Stigu. This planner has great stuff to test out and try. It has plenty of ideas of things to do which can slot into my busy life juggling two teenage kids and a global business responsibility. The really great thing is that Stigu doesn’t make me feel like a loser when I just need a rest. Stigu is laid back and fun. It’s a friend that will follow me everywhere.

I adore Stigu. It’s fun yet helpful. It’s pretty yet functional. I especially like the feel-good tips for busy multitaskers like me. However, on top of this all it’s fundamentally a stellar planner and just the right size to top my iPad. I am going to give Stigu out as a Xmas present to my family and friends this year.
